At Halo Media, I worked with Universal Music Group to create websites for award-winning music artists and record companies. I made the official sites for artists including Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Lady Gaga, and Frank Sinatra. Working with such high profile artists taught me how to work in an exremely fast pace envirement, and how to handle last minute tweaks and requests. I quickly became efficient and effective in assessing and resolving challenges that surfaced during site development.
After doing a few music sites, I realized that the current Sass framework was fairly simplistic and as a result was creating a longer timeline for development builds. I discussed these concerns with the lead developer and was put in charge of leading a team in creating and implementing a plan for reducing build timelines. By creating more mixins and component like code, people were able to save a lot of time when building out different sections of a site. On top of reducing development build time, I also made sites more interactive by adding custom animations and unique styles. Today’s sites are now more engaging, which has decreased bounce rate and increased average session duration.
